Bachelor Chef

In the Bachelor Chef, I’m starting to post a few food recipes that I make. I usually try to take food when going to a party.

My goals are:

  • healthy (relatively)
  • but still tastes good (NOT tofurkey or anything crazy like that)
  • feeds a large number of people (good for Wrap Parties)
  • not too difficult (or time-consuming to make)
  • affordable (I am a poor, starving actor)

My Mom is a very good Southern cook. I have many recipes from her and her sister, Lil. Our 2 families have always been very close. Lil had 3 girls that are roughly the same age as us 3 boys. I’m the baby – and they never let me forget it. 😉

Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals for 2017

Great list of upcoming Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals from WPBeginner. Comment below if you find any other insanely great or useful deals. Black Friday

Black Friday is an informal name for the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, the fourth Thursday of November, which has been regarded as the beginning of the country’s Christmas shopping season since 1952.

Most major retailers open very early, as early as overnight hours, and offer promotional sales. Black Friday is not an official holiday, but California and some other states observe “The Day After Thanksgiving” as a holiday for state government employees, sometimes in lieu of another federal holiday, such as Columbus Day.[2] Many non-retail employees and schools have both Thanksgiving and the following Friday off, which, along with the following regular weekend, makes it a four-day weekend, thereby increasing the number of potential shoppers.

Cyber Monday

Cyber Monday is a marketing term for the Monday after the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States. The term “Cyber Monday” was created by marketing companies to persuade people to shop online. The term was coined by Ellen Davis and Scott Silverman, and made its debut on November 28, 2005 in a Shop.org press release entitled “‘Cyber Monday’ Quickly Becoming One of the Biggest Online Shopping Days of the Year”.[1]

According to the Shop.org/Bizrate Research 2005 eHoliday Mood Study, “77 percent of online retailers said that their sales increased substantially on the Monday after Thanksgiving, a trend that is driving serious online discounts and promotions on Cyber Monday this year (2005)”.

SAG Awards 2018 Ensemble Top Contenders

Here is a great article from the Hollywood Reporter about the top contenders for the Best Ensemble for the 2018 SAG Awards.

Since time to watch all these movies is an issue (holidays/parties/work/life/yada), I suggest you start watching as many of these as possible now. Like now. 🙂

The official nominees for the 24th Annual Screen Actors Guilds Awards will be announced on Dec 13. I put a countdown clock on the front page of my website.

Ensemble Awards History

Screen Actors Guild Awards (also known as SAG Awards) are accolades given by the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) to recognize outstanding performances in film and prime time television. The statuette given, a nude male figure holding both a mask of comedy and a mask of tragedy, is called “The Actor”.[1] It is 16 inches (41 cm) tall, weighs over 12 pounds (5.4 kg), is cast in solid bronze, and produced by the American Fine Arts Foundry in Burbank, California.[2]

SAG Awards have been one of the major awards events in Hollywood since 1995. Nominations for the awards come from two committees, one for film and one for television, each numbering 2100 members of the union, randomly selected anew each year, with the full membership (165,000 as of 2012) available to vote for the winners. It is considered an indicator of success at the Academy Awards. The awards have been telecast since 1998 on TNT, and since 2007 have been simulcast on TBS.

The inaugural SAG Awards aired live on February 25, 1995 from Universal Studios‘ Stage 12. The second SAG awards aired live from the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, while subsequent awards have been held at the Shrine Exposition Center.[3] On December 4, 2017, it was announced that the award show would have its first host ever in its twenty-four year history with actress Kristen Bell presiding over the ceremony.[4]

I Was a Stand In at the 2017 National Hockey League Awards and Expansion Draft – And WOW, Joe Manganiello is TALL!

Wow, Joe Manganiello is tall! Like 6’ 5”. Super nice guy. At the very end of one of the run-thrus for the 2017 National Hockey League Awards and Expansion Draft at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV and broadcast on NBC, he was ending the show and all of us Stand Ins were in a row directly behind him. He made some joke and then we had to fill some time while the credits would roll. So he turned around and walked back to us. I was standing next to him, smiled, said, “Good job!” and high-fived him. His hands were rough. I’m guessing he doesn’t wear gloves when he works out?
