Lloyd Vogel (Writer) is an investigative journalist who receives an assignment to profile Fred Rogers, aka Mr. Rogers. He approaches the interview with skepticism, as he finds it hard to believe that anyone can have such a good nature. But Roger’s empathy, kindness and decency soon chips away at Vogel’s jaded outlook on life, forcing the reporter to reconcile with his own painful past.
What a bizarre movie! Tom Hanks is almost always good as an actor. My biggest complaint is he never really changed through out the movie. The Writer did (relationship with his Father), but the movie is supposed to be about Mr Rogers. I thought it was too cutesy of a choice for the Writer to wake up in the TV set of the show. I did like this movie, but was expecting more.
See it on the Big Screen
Thank you to Mr Tristar Pictures for giving me access to watch this via Digital Streaming so I could make an intelligent and informed opinion when casting my vote for the 25th Annual SAG Awards. However, a big, sprawling, visually appealing movie like this really should be seen on the Big Screen in a community setting. I wish you had a Screening for me or (at the very least) offered Movie Cash.
