BLACK-ISH, DOWNTON ABBEY, MODERN FAMILY, SHAMELESS, THE BIG BANG THEORY, THE PEOPLE V OJ SIMPSON, THE WALKING DEADTHIS IS US, TRANSPARENT

SAG Awards 2017 Nominee for: various categories.

RATING:
None. No access.

How viewed: I didn’t. No access to Screening, DVD, Digital Streaming, or Movie Cash. Well, that is not quite accurate. I have been watching some of these shows for some time now.

My Review: None. No access.

Dear Mr American Broadcasting Company, Mr Carnival Film & Television, Mr Public Broadcasting Service, Mr Levitan/Lloyd, Mr Bonanza Productions, Mr Showtime Networks, Mr Chuck Lorre Productions, Mr Columbia Broadcasting Service,  Mr Rhode Island Ave Productions, Mr National Broadcasting Company, Mr Amazon Studios, Mr Amazon Instant Video, Mr Ryan Murphy Productions, and Mr FX Networks: I would have liked to have seen your show before casting my vote. How can you expect me to make an intelligent and informed opinion when casting my vote on the 23rd Annual SAG Awards?

I wish I had immediate access in one central location (eg: iTunes) to these shows for when considering who to vote for SAG Awards 2017. I don’t want to have to rely on my memory of a past broadcast.

What do you think about not being able to screen these movies that are up for various categories – BLACK-ISH, DOWNTON ABBEY, MODERN FAMILY, SHAMELESS, THE BIG BANG THEORY, THE PEOPLE V OJ SIMPSON, THE WALKING DEADTHIS IS US, TRANSPARENT? Please comment below.

  1. From an outsiders pov, it totally doesn’t make sense that a show or movie wouldn’t be made available to the voting audience. It’s like they dont want to win! Thanks for sharing this. I definitely have a new perspective towards the whole awards process.

  2. I couldn’t agree more that some access for viewing nominated films and television programs should be given to voting members. A central location for streaming would be ideal but I give leeway here to producers and studios on this. What meets their personal security comfort. I wonder if security issues is a reason we do not receive many of these programs or if they do not wish to be a true contender for these awards. Solutions? I hope so.

    1. Thanx Matt for feedback. Glad you agree. Yes, a central location for streaming would be ideal, but many of those shows are broadcast and live on a free/open website owned by the company. EG: Anyone can watch full episodes of BLACK-ISH for free on the company website https://abc.go.com/shows/blackish. That involves no money at all. That link could be included in the email with instructions for how to watch all the other shows from SAG Awards. That would be a step in the right direction.
