My audition for the role of Eli in The Wind

The Wind is a supernatural thriller set in the late 1800’s. I auditioned to play Eli, the leader of the field hands/laborers.

This character (especially his laugh) is based on a deacon at my small town home church in Kentucky.

Synopsis for The Wind

A supernatural thriller set in the Western frontier of the late 1800’s, The Wind stars Caitlin Gerard (INSIDIOUS: THE LAST KEY) as a plains-woman driven mad by the harshness and isolation of the untamed land. The film is directed by Emma Tami, written by Teresa Sutherland and stars Caitlin Gerard, Ashley Zukerman, and Julia Goldani. It was produced by Soapbox Films and Divide/Conquer.

Soapbox Films

Soapbox Films is an award-winning  creative agency and production company established in 2002.

Divide/Conquer

Producers Adam Hendricks, John Lang, and Greg Gilreath founded the production company Divide/Conquer (pronounced “Divide and Conquer”) in 2013. They first focused on creating short-form content such as the short films “Pink Grapefruit” (2016 Sundance Film Festival premiere, 2016 SXSW Jury Award Winner for Best Narrative Short) & “Connected” (2017 Webby Winner for Best Drama Short), music videos for artists such as Rooney and Garfunkel & Oates, commercials for companies such as Ford and McDonalds, and branded content for brands like Warby Parker, Adidas+ESPN, and AXE.

After producing more than sixty projects, the team expanded into the long-form space and started producing virtual reality projects such as Hulu’s “Virtually Mike & Nora” and “Door No. 1,” documentary recreations, Netflix’s Emmy-nominated television special “Garfunkel & Oates: Trying to be Special,” and web series such as “High & Mighty” directed by Carlos Lopez Estrada (2018 Sundance Film Festival premiere).

Seasoned business-affairs exec Zac Locke joined the company in 2017 to help Divide/Conquer scale up production and expand its scope. The company has produced over a dozen feature films, most notably Magnolia’s’ “Lucky” starring Harry Dean Stanton (2017 SXSW Film Festival premiere), Netflix’s “Cam” (2018 Fantasia Film Festival) and the upcoming “The Wind” (2018 Toronto Interntional Film Festival).
